An NMR spectrometer Bruker AMX 360 with the proton frequency of 360.13 MHz has been working in VÚOS a.s. since 1993. In 2001, an NMR spectrometer Bruker Avance 500 with the proton frequency of 500.13 MHz was put into operation. Both instruments form a basis of Joint NMR Laboratory of University of Pardubice and VUOS. The spectrometers are equipped with 5-mm and 10-mm wide-band inversion probes allowing utilisation of the magnetic field gradient. All the probes operate within the range of 109 Ag - 31 P and 1H.
The main areas of activity of the Laboratory are analyses of organic compounds and their mixtures by means of 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The structural analyses make use of the advantages of two-dimensional (2D) NMR spectroscopy in a standard way. The staff members of the Laboratory have rich experience with measurements of nuclei other than 1H and 13C, too, in particular 14N, 15N, 17O, 27Al, 29Si, 31P, 33S, 119Sn etc., and they participate in education of undergraduates and postgraduates from University of Pardubice, thus co-operating effectively with its Faculty of Chemical Technology.
